I found more tannin in the 2019 Vetus, a mixture of Tinta de Toro with some Garnacha from different vineyards cropped from a warm and dry year, which resulted in a wine that is a little riper and with slightly higher alcohol and good structure and concentration. 14,079 bottles produced. It was bottled in April 2021.
This shows ripe and smoky character with aromas of plums, blueberry jam, baking spices and tar. Full-bodied with chalky, slightly chewy tannins and a deep core of delicious, ripe black fruit. Tempranillo. Drink or hold.
This is dense, compact and smart with hints of graphite, violets, toast and blackberries, high-quality oak and a long, pleasant finish.
