El Puntido 2020 Magnum

El Puntido is a large vineyard, although not all of it is used for this wine, located on sandstone soils between 600 and 630 metres in Páganos. Deeply coloured and concentrated, it's a glossy, unashamedly modern style of Tempranillo with aromas of violet and Asian spices, bramble and blackberry fruit and good underlying acidity and structure. 2026-32

The 2020 El Puntido comes from the vineyard that names the wine and is 25 hectares at 600 meters above sea level. It is worked without herbicides or systemic products. The wine fermented in 2,000-liter oak vats and matured in new French oak barrels for 15 months, followed by another six months in tank before it was bottled. It's ripe and a little oaky, with a modern profile and a little more development in this warmer year. It has incisive tannins and a dry finish. Better with powerful food. 40,000 bottles produced. It was bottled in December 2022.
