The Wine Advocate:

The eponymous red 2021 Exopto is quite expressive, aromatic, showy and floral, reflecting the high percentage of Graciano (60%) that is complemented with 30% Tempranillo and 10% Garnacha. It's ripe without excess, with 14.5% alcohol but keeping very good freshness and acidity that makes it balanced. He lowered the new oak to 30%, and now 75% of the volume matured in 500-liter oak barrels. 4,500 bottles were filled in March 2023.

"Very easy to make" is how Tom Puyaubert describes the 2021 vintage, and there's certainly a sense of balance and focus about his blend of Graciano from Alfaro with 28% Tempranillo and 2% Garnacha from san Vicente de la Sonsierra. Appealing aromas of wild Mediterranean herbs and Angostura bitters provide a portal to a compact palate of blueberry, damson and spicy oak. 2024-30
