Goliardo A Telleira 2014

"The 2014 Goliardo A Telleira is pure Albariño from a single plot of 45-year-old vines on sandy soils with plenty of boulders ,planted with 1,200 plants per hectare at ten meters altitude; it was fermented and raised in well-seasoned 750-liter oak barrels where it matured for 12 months. It feels just a tad riper than the Leirana Finca Genoveva, with some yellow fruit, hints of pollen and also wet stones. The palate reveals good volume, combining nice ripeness with high acidity and freshness. The only problem with this wine is having the magnificent 2014 Leirana Finca Genoveva next to it! None of these wines show any influence of the oak, as the barrels are well-seasoned and neutral in aromas, they just let the wines breathe slowly and age/mature in a different way to stainless steel. 1,000 bottles."
