Tim Atkin:

The second release of Marta Castrillo and César Maté's Raspón is every bit as good as the 2016, sourced from a biodynamic vineyard at 930 metres in Gumiel de Mercado. If your impression of Ribera reds is that they're big, oaky and inky, this will come as a surprise, being closer to red Burgundy in style. Picked late so that the stems are lignified, it's a fine, focused, graceful red with some cloves spice, sappy red cherry and raspberry fruit and the faintest hint of oak. Delicious. 2
