The 2019 Ventoux Persia is 90% Syrah (being aged in Stockinger foudres) and 10% Mourvèdre (aging in new Seguin-Moreau Icone barrels); it should be bottled over the winter. On the nose, it's vaguely herbal-peppery, with lots of blueberry and blackberry fruit. On the palate, it's medium to full-bodied, crisp and firm and will clearly benefit from additional elevage. - Joe Czerwinski.
Dark cherries, currants, violets, thyme and rosemary on the nose. Tar, too. It’s full-bodied with chewy, powdery tannins. Juicy with a chalky texture. Dusty, layered and savory with a tannic and flavorful finish. Drink or hold.
