Valautin Albillo Real 2019

The village white 2019 Valautín Albillo from San Martín de Valdeiglesias comes from a number of vineyards, most of them old and on granite soils, from a very dry and warm vintage when they managed to contain the alcohol to 13.5%. The full clusters were pressed, and the juice fermented in used 300- and 500-liter oak barrels with indigenous yeasts and matured in the fermentation vessels for 12 months without racking or bâtonnage. This is a floral and fresh white with some spicy and herbal notes, expressive and a little wild. This is elegant and nuanced, fresher than the majority of Albillo Real, vibrant and complex, very young and with the complexity of the potpourri of vineyards used. 3,200 bottles were filled in July 2021. - Luis Gutiérrez.
