The just-bottled 2022 Naranjas Azules Garnacha is a super pale rosé, a blanc de noirs produced with juice from old vines in Cebreros. 2022 was a warm and very dry year, and the wine is powerful at 13.5% alcohol, but it keeps very good freshness and acidity. The skin-less grapes fermented at a low temperature in concrete with indigenous yeasts, and the wine was bottled unoaked. This is subtle and elegant, floral, very clean and surprisingly fresh for such a warm and dry year. It has a little more volume but keeps the freshness and tension. It has a pristine palate with crystal clarity, precision and symmetry. Awesome rosé! This is a wine that somehow transcends the style of the vintage, more than in some other vintages, and it's more serious. 50,000 bottles produced. It was bottled in March 2023, a couple of weeks before I tasted it.
