Plop! En el Camino... Acercándonos 2016

"The 2016 Plop! En el Camino... Acercándonos is a red from an old vineyard in Magaz de Abajo, a parish of Cacabelos, with a field blend planted with a majority of Mencía but also with some white grapes and other reds (Ferrón, Garnacha Tintorera...). The wine fermented with 30% full clusters that were foot trodden and the rest destemmed grapes, all macerated with the skins for two months and then transferred to terracotta amphorae, where the wine was kept for some eight months. There are bright fruit notes reminiscent of carbonic maceration. There are some earthy tannins, a little dusty, with rusticity and clout to stand up to some food. It's aromatic, expressive, approachable and easy to understand. 3,000 bottles were filled in July 2017."
