Descrição

Esta 2022 é a primeira colheita que o 3º Grand Cru Classé de 1855 Château Langoa Barton elaborou na sua nova adega. Isto permitiu-lhe optar por uma vinificação mais precisa de cada pequena parcela separadamente. O resultado é um grande representante de Saint-Julien, profundo, tenso, polido e penetrante, que, na opinião da crítica, pode mesmo superar as bem classificadas colheitas de 2019 e 2016.

A entrega deste vinho está prevista para o segundo semestre de 2025.

Descrição
A vinha deste "château" tem vista para o rio Gironde, beneficiando da proteção natural proporcionada pelas temperaturas amenas da influência do rio.

Solo
Magnífico afloramento de cascalho do Quaternário sobre um subsolo argiloso.
Rendimento
30 hectolitros por hectare.
Colheita
Vindima manual de 8 a 23 de Setembro.
Vinificação
Após o desengace, as uvas são cuidadosamente selecionadas e transferidas para cubas de madeira termoreguladas para fermentação e maceração.
Envelhecimento
Estágio de 16 a 18 meses em barricas de carvalho francês (60% novas).

James Suckling:

Deep fruit, dark spices and graphite with wide yet polished, linear tannins. Full-bodied and intense with depth and structure. Long and chalky at the end. Big wine.

Decanter:

Supple and lively, this has energy and intensity from the start. Clean and precise, well worked, cool and fresh with tannins that do well to give the frame and structure without overwhelming the fruit. Really nice this year, good movement and liveliness, rich fruit but juicy and fun. Doesn't take itself too seriously and I really like it!! Harvest 8-23 September. Yield of 30hl/ha. Ageing in French oak, 60% new.

The Wine Advocate:

The first vintage produced in the estate's new winery, which more than doubled the number of vats, permitting sub-plot by sub-plot vinification, the brilliant 2022 Langoa Barton offers up aromas of dark berries, cassis, violets and cigar wrapper, followed by a medium to full-bodied, deep and fleshy palate endowed with terrific depth and tension. Polished and penetrating, it should match or even surpass the 2019 and 2016 vintages, and it is sure to be one of the more intelligent purchases of the en primeur campaign.
