Tim Atkin:

Spice and a savoury touch but not rustic as Cos Labory used to be, and a continued progression under the Reybier ownership, now in its second year. Inky violet scents, but no rustic earthiness. The wine rests a little hollow in the middle palate compared to its stablemate, but the freshness, acidity and lightweight qualities of the vintage are apparent on the finish. Good effort and likely very good value. Remains a property to watch.

Decanter:

Cabernet aromas, blackcurrant leaf, cedar and dark chocolate. Bright acidity gives the lift straight away with quite massy tannins that fill the mouth. They're not too dry, but plentiful with a plushness as well as coolness. A touch of cedar and greens on the finish which is distracting but overall not bad at all. A little light on the finish just losing some momentum. Chalky and mineral ending too. 2% Cabernet Franc completes the blend. Ageing 20% new barrels. 3.63pH.

Jeb Dunnuck:

Loads of ripe black cherries, graphite, smoked herbs, and some earthy notes all emerge from the 2024 Château Cos Labory, another richly textured, concentrated, structured wine that I suspect will need some time. The blend is 62% Cabernet Sauvignon, 26% Merlot, 10% Petit Verdot, and the rest Cabernet Franc.

James Suckling:

A powerful, muscular St.-Estephe for the year with lots of fresh blackberries and black cherries. Full-bodied and tight-grained, with abundant tannins and a compact, medium-long finish. Slightly chewy at the end. 62% cabernet sauvignon, 26% merlot, 10% petit verdot and 2% cabernet franc.

Falstaff:

Deep dark ruby, opaque core, purple reflections, subtle brightening on the rim. Subtle tobacco and herbal spice, wild black berries, a hint of cherries and cassis. Lean, red berry notes, lively acidity, mineral, lemony finish, will benefit from ageing.
