The Wine Advocate:

"The 2013 Ignios Orígenes Listán Negro Vendimia Seleccionada is produced with the flagship of the Canaries' reds, from selected grapes from a vineyard planted with young and older vines. Ten percent full clusters were used in the fermentation that was carried out in stainless steel with indigenous yeasts. Malolactic and 11 months aging happened in a combination of 600- and 228-liter oak barrels. The nose has a strong vegetal streak with a background of perfumed notes of talcum powder, dried roses and white pepper. It's a little disturbing, because I believe the herbal notes are not inherent to the grape but to the characteristics of the growing season. Think of a Loire red, which is a little weird when drinking a wine from a subtropical climate. The wine as such is very smooth, with unnoticeable tannins and the fruit at the forefront, with the oak very well integrated with herbal flavors making it tasty. Pleasant and easy to drink, but a bit puzzling. 3,500 bottles".
