The NV Palo Cortado VORS, from the 2,150 bottles filled in 2016 (marked as L1/16 on the label) now averages almost 40 years of age, as Tradición purchased the solera of Capuchino from Osborne, and the blend increased almost ten years from the previous time I tasted it in 2013. This is a textbook Palo Cortado with that creaminess that makes them unique, incredible elegance and intensity but at the same time terribly balanced and elegant. A world-class wine.
This young bodega keeps to its name by releasing Sherries of classic maturity. Extraordinarily complex aromas, intense yet lifted, a richly smooth entry onto the palate and a bitter almond aftertaste. Quite superb and memorable.
