The Wine Advocate:

A 70/30 blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc, the Tenuta le Colonne 2019 Bolgheri Superiore is a small production of 6,000 (rather heavy) glass bottles from a site with sandy, gravel-rich soils. It reveals pure aromas of black fruit, dried blueberry, toasted oak, cherry and crushed stone. This softly textured, medium to full-bodied red also shows a pretty hint of earth, forest floor and delicate blue flower.

Decanter:

Ruby coloured and leafy scented, this is full of fresh notes of rosemary and lavender, pipe tobacco and a balsamic touch. Multifaceted and complex, dense and fresh, it shows a delicate rose flavour with tight, youthful and crunchy cassis and red cherry. It's angular but the toasty flavours make for a nice finish.

Suckling:

Plums, spiced cherries, tomato leaf, mushrooms and a hint of cocoa powder. Medium- to full-bodied with firm tannins. Quite juicy and linear on the palate, followed by a fine, slightly saline finish. From organically grown grapes.
