The 2016 Memòria is a blend of 60% Xarel.lo and 40% Macabeu from two contiguous vineyards planted in the 1970s. It reflects a warmer and dry year, with more Mediterranean notes of esparto grass and other aromatic herbs denoting the character of the vintage. It also has the influence from the limestone-rich soils (the soils are rich in gypsum) and is quite mineral and stony, with a salty twist. This matured in bottle with the lees for 60 months, so it's a sparkling with a long aging and high complexity. 7,000 bottles produced.
