The pale and delicate 2019 Sant Antoni de Scala Dei is from a single vineyard on clay soils. It has an intoxicating nose of flowers, wildflowers and herbs and a fresh and balanced palate with very fine tannins. It has energy and light, rather than concentration, through a careful vinification and élevage in used oak and with the freshness of the high altitude of the vineyard.
A single vineyard wine, high above most of Priorat, on clay based soils. Elegant, varietal Garnacha; beautifully defined strawberry and cherry fruit, white pepper, crushed rocks and wild herbs. Remarkably delicate for a big wine, yet the fruit character comes through strongly into the long, dry finish. Excellent and well worth the premium. 2023-2034
Los orígenes de Cellers de Scala Dei se remontan al siglo XIX cuando, a raíz de la desamortización de Mendizábal las familias de los actuales propietarios adquirieron las tierras de la Cartuja de Scala Dei.
