A "parte dos anjos", em francês la part des anges, não é apenas o nome poético atribuído à parte do volume de um vinho que se evapora quando passa para a barrica, mas também é um Châteauneuf du Pape de referência, embora num estilo ligeiramente mais moderno, elaborado pela Domaine Raymond Usseglio & Fils. A poderosa Mourvèdre é a variedade dominante deste assemblage, completada por Grenache e Syrah para formar um tinto aveludado, longo e delicioso.

Elaboração em depósitos de betão.
Envelhecimento
A Grenache é envelhecida numa combinação de pequenos tanques de betão e foudres Stockinger. A Syrah e a Mourvèdre são estagiadas em barricas de 225 litros, 80% novas.
Engarrafamento
Não é filtrado antes do engarrafamento, pelo que podem estar presentes sedimentos naturais.

A blend of 70% Mourvèdre, 20% Grenache Noir and 10% Syrah, the 2022 Chateauneuf du Pape la Part des Anges wafts from the glass with aromas of flowers, dark wild berries, tapenade, spices and ripe mulberries. Medium to full-bodied, supple and seamless, it's generous and enveloping with velvety tannins, a fleshy core of fruit and a harmonious, long and vibrant finish. It is worth a special effort to seek out. Matured in foudres and large barrels.

James Suckling:

This powerful and full-bodied Chateauneuf has enormous black olive character plus notes of tar and leather. Huge tannins, but there's nothing extreme about them, and the cocoa character at the imposing finish is quite restrained. A cuvee of 70% mourvedre, 20% greanche and 10% syrah from biodynamically grown grapes. Exceptionally for this producer, the wine is matured in demi muids and foudre wooden casks. Drinkable now, but best from 2026.

More modern styled, the 2022 Châteauneuf Du Pape La Part Des Anges is a blend of 70% Mourvèdre, 20% Grenache, and 10% Syrah raised in foudre and demi-muid. Spicy black raspberries, red plums, spicy oak, graphite, and peppery herb notes all shine here, and it brings ample richness and depth on the palate, with medium to full body, ripe, velvety tannins, and a great finish. It's going to benefit from 2-4 years of bottle age and keep through 2037.
