The Wine Advocate:

The grapes for the 2011 Yotuel Finca de Valdepalacios were the first to be harvested and come from an old plot with a south-facing orientation that achieves higher ripeness, but it's almost unbelievable how fresh the wine shows. The only problem is to taste it next to the San Miguel from this same year. At that time, they still used some new oak that is starting to fade away, but I have the feeling it always somehow remains as part of the texture of the tannins. 889 bottles and 40 magnums were filled in June 2013.

Tim Atkin:

Valdepalacios is a one-hectare parcel of 78-year-old bush vines that faces south-east in the Burgos village of Anguix. Abundantly scented and floral, this is a refined wine that combines fruit concentration with freshness, subtle new French oak with textured tannins and dark berry fruit with notes of thyme and rosemary. Maturing gracefully. 2020-26.
