Avaliação dos peritos

The Wine Advocate:

The village red 2021 Monte Gatún was produced with 70% Tempranillo, 20% Garnacha and 10% Mazuelo from the highest mountain in the Sierra de Yerga, a mountain that names the wine, trying to show that Tempranillo from that zone with the help of other varieties can be fresh and viable. The varieties fermented separately, and the aging was in new French oak barrels and concrete and lasted 10 months. It's ripe without excess at 14% alcohol. It's primary, fruit-driven, juicy and a bit grapey, with a peachy palate, soft and easy to drink. 9,871 bottles produced. It was bottled in August 2022.

Tim Atkin:

Javier Arizcuren makes this Rioja Oriental Cuvée of Tempranillo, 20% Mazuelo and 10% Garnacha with grapes grown between 530 and 600 metres in the village of Quel. Wild mountain herb aromas segue into a sappy, lightly reductive palate with damson and tapenade flavours and a grippy finish. 2024-29
