The Wine Advocate:

The characterful, intense and complex 2016 Mengoba Godello Sobre Lías now mentions Godello Viejo on its label (old Godello), remarking the old age of the vines and therefore the old type of plant, with small berries and concentrated juice that produce this intense white. This matured in a 4,000-liter oak foudre, and the oak flavors and aromas are very integrated. The nose is developed and has complexity with some mineral, diesel-like notes intermixed with yellow plums, fresh hay and waxy apples. It finishes with a bittersweet note lifted by its freshness. I liked this very much. 12,000 bottles produced. It was bottled in December 2017.
