The Wine Advocate:

Produced in conjunction with Matías Michelini, the 2018 Pequeñas Puertas La Peli is a light red produced with the grape called Garnacha Roya, a grape that was almost forgotten. In the vineyard called La Carbonela (within El Corral de los Altos in Fitero), they have red Garnacha and Garnacha Gris, also called Garnacha Roya or Garnacha Roja, a variety that has the reputation of producing the best rosé. The wine looks pink, the texture is more like a white and they produced it like an orange wine: fermented destemmed but with the skins in a 1,000-liter bin. It has moderate alcohol and notable acidity. Once fermentation was over, it was pressed and the wine was put in a used 500-liter oak barrel, where it matured for 15 months. This reminds me of a clarete, with some aromatic notes that could make you think of a white and the palate that is more of a red—it has the tannins from the skin and also the input from the barrel. It has a delicious profile, with lively acidity and finesse. This should evolve nicely in bottle; it would be very interested to see what this wine is in five years. 660 bottles were filled in February 2020. - Luis Gutiérrez.
