So much tension and fine layering in this light-bodied but detailed and elegant wine. It has chalky, saline aromas and subtle Bosc pear, vanilla bean and cream notes on the palate. From a planting at Domaine de la Côte below the Memorious plot, the 2022 Chardonnay Romance is a fabulous wine. Its nose combines nuanced, oceanic lift with honeyed, rich decadence, qualities that fittingly introduce a punchy, dense, coiled palate whose tension unwinds into a beautiful long and layered finish that regenerates energy with impressive detail and clarity. It will be hard to avoid drinking now, but it will surely reward patience.
