The best vintage of Don Álvaro that I've tasted, this hails from what Diego Ríos calls a "Salnés Grand Cru" close to the Atlantic Ocean. Produced in a challengingly cool vintage, it has good texture from lees ageing in foudres for two years, the focus and tension that are typical of many 2021 whites, layers of green apple, lime and nuanced baking spices and top notes of oyster shell and kelp. 2025-32
