Domaine Weinbach Gewürztraminer Cuvée Laurence 2020

The 2020 Gewurztraminer Cuvée Laurence is clear, bright and exotic on the nose that offers lemon chutney and spicy notes intermingled with rose petal aromas. On the palate, this is a rich and intense but fresh and tightly structured Gewurz with good tension and a saline, finely piquant and stimulating finish. 14% stated alcohol. Natural cork. Tasted at the domaine in May 2022.

Wonderful nose of exotic fruit (more mangosteen than lychee) and tropical flowers, none of the specific notes dominating, rather the opposite. So succulent and elegant, the texture on the rather sleek palate really silky. The extravagance of this grape only showing a little at the flamboyant finish, where a salty touch lifts the ample body effortlessly. From biodynamically grown grapes. Drink or hold.
