Domaine de Montbourgeau Secret de Montbourgeau

As the liqueur is older than the wine, there is no vintage in the NV Secret de Montbourgeau, a concentrated and reduced must blended with grape liqueur (l'eau de vie de marc) to achieve 17% alcohol. It matured in barrel for three years. It has a distinct nose similar to a Macvin but with more cooked apple aromas and flavors and a lush, velvety mouthfeel. It's powerful but less warm than you expect because it has a lot less alcohol than a spirit. Only 594 bottles were filled in April 2023.
