"Será que a colheita de 2022 é a nova 1982?" Com esta pergunta, o Château Siran apresenta uma colheita prometedora que, segundo o crítico da Vinous, Antonio Galloni, é uma das melhores que provou desta casa. A Merlot prevalece ligeiramente sobre a Cabernet sauvignon no coupage, dando origem a um vinho sedoso, aromático e já excecionalmente polido.  

A entrega deste vinho está prevista para o segundo semestre de 2025.

Vinha e preparação

Descrição
As vinhas estão localizadas num belo planalto na zona de Labarde e são cultivadas através de uma viticultura sustentável sem herbicidas químicos.
Idade
A idade média é de 38 anos, embora as parcelas mais antigas datem de 1920.
Solo
Aluvial, com areias e cascalhos siliciosos.
Rendimento
36 hectolitros por hectare.
Colheita
A vindima foi feita à mão, em pequenas caixas, e a escolha das uvas foi realizada em mesas de seleção. A vindima decorreu de 13 a 30 de Setembro.
Vinificação
Seleção intra-parcelar, fermentação em cubas de aço inoxidável termorreguladas com remontagens periódicas. Maceração a 28-30 °C, com 'cuvaison' de 8 a 10 dias. Fermentação maloláctica parcial em barricas novas.
Envelhecimento
12 meses em barricas de carvalho francês de grão fino e tostado médio (35% novas). Durante o processo de envelhecimento, serão feitas duas trasfegas.

James Suckling:

The lead-pencil and dark-berry aromas are very persuasive here, and aromatic! Medium to full body with juicy fruit, velvety tannins and a long, flavorful finish. Creamy and pretty. Give it two or three years. Best after 2028.

Decanter:

A delightful Siran in 2022 that manages to give the density of the vintage while remaining joyful and extremely drinkable. Textured tannins make the first impact, coating the mouth and giving a touch of seriousness to the profile before a mouthwatering succulence comes in, lifting the strawberry, raspberry and blackcurrant fruit. The soft fleshiness gives structure but this remains polished and quite sleek. A lovely Margaux to look out for with detail and drive.

Falstaff:

Deep dark ruby, purple reflections, brightening on the rim. Red cherries, some liqourice and orange zest, floral touch in the underlay. Juicy, elegant, good fruit expression, good freshness, lingers long, subtle nougat on the finish.Good length, certain ageing potential, already accessible.
