Jeb Dunnuck:

I also loved the red from this estate, and their 2016 Châteauneuf-du-Pape is unquestionably the finest wine I’ve tasted from the Mestre family. Blackcurrants, toasted spices, licorice, and ample peppery herb notes flow to a medium to full-bodied, dense, concentrated, slightly rustic effort that packs ample richness and flesh. Drink it over the coming 10-15 years. The blend is 65% Grenache, 15% each of Syrah and Mourvèdre, and 5% Cinsault, brought up in foudre, barrels, and concrete tanks.
