Avaliação dos especialistas

James Suckling:

A slightly bigger wine this year with dark berries, cherries and dark chocolate. Medium- to full-bodied with firm, lightly chewy tannins and a juicy, tight-grained finish. 56% merlot, 42% cabernet sauvignon and 2% cabernet franc.

Tim Atkin:

More sweet spicy oak aromas (50% new) with a core of red and black fruit underneath. Unusually although this is usually the "Cabernet" of the two subsidiary wines at Pichon Baron, in 2024, even Les Griffons has more Merlot. Structured and elegant with a lean fresh nature to the acidity and tannins but more than enough fruit to keep everything in check. This will require more time than the Tourelles, but has the density to age well.

Falstaff:

Dark ruby, purple reflections, delicate edge brightening. Delicate notes of blackberry, black cherry, delicate woody savouriness, tobacco nuances, mineral touch. Medium complexity, red berry touch, fresh structure, mineral finish, a lively companion at the table.

Jeb Dunnuck:

A clear step up in quality, the 2024 Les Griffons De Pichon Baron is darker fruited, with some classic Pauillac graphite and currant notes as well as medium-bodied richness and depth. It has ripe tannins, wonderful purity, and outstanding length. The Les Griffons is 56% Merlot, 42% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 2% Cabernet Franc, aged in 50% new oak and hitting 12.9% alcohol and 3.62 pH.
