The unbottled 2022 Les Chalasses Vieilles Vignes has volume and reveals a nose of cereals, pollen, flowers and herbs. It's still young, undeveloped and primary, with memories of fruit and the variety, but time will bring the terroir to the surface. The long aging of the whites can balance the years when they don't have wine to sell because of frost, hail and maladies, and they now have three vintages in the cellar. They had a dismissal crop in 2022, as was the case in 2021, and unfortunately, it might happen again in 2024.
