La Bota de Florpower Nº 77 MMXV

The other unfortified, flor-aged white is the 2015 La Bota de Florpower 77 MMXV, but in this case the origin is Sanlúcar de Barrameda, hence it's like an unfortified Manzanilla. It fermented in stainless steel and matured under a veil of yeast (flor), first in oak casks for eight months and later a further nine months in stainless steel tank. It's a little closed, a wine that needs some time to take off, but has pungent and pharmaceutical aromas, somehow balsamic, and slowly developing notes of esparto grass and chalk. The palate is very powerful and more expressive than the nose. 3,500 bottles produced. It was bottled in the summer 2017. - Luis Gutiérrez.
