Chablis Vieilles Vignes 2016 JC Bessin

The 2016 Chablis Vieilles Vignes is superb, to the extent that it's hard to think of a better Chablis AOC bottling this year. The wine wafts from the glass with notes of peach, green apple and citrus oil, followed by a medium to full-bodied palate with a glossy attack, succulent acids and a deep core of fruit. It's a remarkable achievement in a challenging vintage. Note that in this context, Vieilles Vignes means vines planted in 1950 and 1968.
