Kalamity 2016

Think of the modern and showy 2016 Kalamity along the lines of the wines from Artadi (including pricing!), meaning ripe and generously oaked, concentrated and tannic but with very good fruit, clean and concentrated. Despite that, it's a blend of 50% Tempranillo, 47% Garnacha and 3% white Viura and Garnacha Blanca from different zones, the Garnacha from Cárdenas and the Tempranillo from Elvillar. It fermented in concrete and oak and matured for one year in 500-liter barrels and foudres. This seems to have an extra degree of freshness and balance. 2,076 bottles and 296 magnums were filled in September 2018. - Luis Gutiérrez.

Savoury, spicy and intense, it has subtle oak, fine tannins and crunchy acidity.
