Segunda colheita da última criação de Juan Antonio Ponce, enólogo que colocou Manchuela no mapa mundial do vinho. Depois do sucesso alcançado com o Reto (agora chamado Ponce Blanco), um monocasta elaborado a partir da casta autóctone Albilla, dá mais um passo em frente com este Albilla Selección, um vinho proveniente das suas duas melhores parcelas que aspira a alcançar uma maior complexidade, profundidade e potencial de envelhecimento. Esta colheita destaca-se pela sua finura, pureza e uma integração mais subtil da madeira.

The Wine Advocate :

The top-of-the-range white 2024 Selección Albilla is only the third vintage of this cuvée, which aims for minerality and complexity but with added finesse and elegance. It's a blend of 60% Albilla from limestone and gravel soils from the plot at the winery and 40% Albilla from granite soils from a plot they call Edu. It fermented in 600-liter barrels and 750- and 1,000-liter foudres, where the wine matured for 11 months. It has lower alcohol than the previous vintage, only 12.15%, with a pH of 3.15 and 6.7 grams of acidity. But it shows a little more creaminess and is spicy and serious but with better integration of the oak than in previous vintages, developing some yeasty, bready notes. The palate has more tension to hold the complexity and depth, coming through as really balanced, with pungent flavors, citrus acidity and symmetry. It's designed for the long haul and will be better if you wait a few years. 3,900 bottles produced. It was bottled in July 2025.
