46,1 hectares.
Solo
Composto principalmente por cascalho sobre uma base de calcário.
Colheita
A vindima manual em caixas foi realizada de 24 de setembro a 5 de outubro. Primeiro, ocorreu a classificação dos cachos e, em seguida, das bagas.
Vinificação
A uva cai no depósito por gravidade. Maceração prefermentativa a frio como prelúdio de um longo período de encubamento. Vinificação por gravidade sem necessidade de bombeamento.
Envelhecimento
Estágio de 16 meses em barricas de carvalho francês novas (60%) e usadas por um ano (40%)

James Suckling:

Dark cherries, black currants, white pepper and graphite with a touch of dark chocolate and cigar box. I love the suppleness and the mid-palate fruit that give excellent width and flesh to this rather lean vintage. Medium to full body with more flesh than bones. The tannins are fine and sleek, and the finish, creamy and extensive. A commendable effort from this vintage. Shows lots of early appeal but will hold very well in the next five to seven years.

Jeb Dunnuck:

The 2021 Château Pédesclaux is solid, even outstanding, with classic Pauillac notes of graphite and lead pencil supported by beautiful cassis-driven fruit. Medium-bodied, elegant, and balanced, it has fine tannins, reasonable mid-palate depth, and a good finish. Based on 64% Cabernet Sauvignon, 27% Merlot, and the rest Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot, it's well-made, has terrific purity of fruit, and I love its overall balance. It's going to benefit from just a few years of bottle age and should drink nicely for 10-15 years if well stored.

Decanter:

Delicate rose-tinged blackcurrants on the nose, ripe and soft. Lovely soft acidity here, it has that almost sweet and sour note, giving you texture and zing as well as clarity and lift. Nicely presented with integrated tannins a round mouthfeel and persistence. Harmonious, soft and well wrapped up - all the elements are just so well signposted and detailed - fruit purity, execution of tannins, acidity and gentle sweetness. And the length - the mint and the blackcurrant just settles on the tongue and doesn't let up! Eric Boissenot consultant. 3.68pH. Ageing 30% new oak barrels. 42% of total production.
