Um dos vinhedos mais altos da vila, que oferece perfis florais e elegantes. Plantado a uma altitude de 680 metros acima do nível do mar. Condução em vaso e orientação oeste.
Idade
A idade média é de 75 anos.
Solo
Argiloso com elevado teor de ferro e presença de seixos.
Vinificação
Em depósito aberto de inox de 1000 litros sem controlo de temperatura. Fermentação alcoólica espontânea com leveduras autóctones e maloláctica em barricas de carvalho francês de 500 litros.
Envelhecimento
Estágio de 12 meses em barricas de carvalho francês de 500 litros.
Engarrafamento
Janeiro de 2025.

From a breezy, sunlit site opposite the winery, this subtle yet structured wine blends intensity with finesse. Floral notes of rose, violet, and Turkish delight lead into ripe red cherry and berry fruit. Despite its ripeness, there's a steely core that seems to come from the clay and stony soils. The tannins are present, supporting the wine with a vibrant grip. A lively, expressive wine with quiet power and poise. 2025-2033. 

The Wine Advocate:

The 2023 Versos de Valtuille Casares was produced with the grapes from the highest-altitude vineyard they have at close to 600 meters above sea level. There are some 8% white grapes and 7% Alicante Bouschet in the field blend, and they fermented together with the Mencía, with 20% full clusters and indigenous yeasts in 1,000-liter oak vats. The wine matured in two well-seasoned 500-liter oak barrels for one year. Last year it was my favorite, and again it seems like one of the most complete of their bottlings. It has the profile of finesse from 2023, but this year, the La Vitoriana and Mata Los Pardos showed better. It has a moderate 12.8% alcohol with a pH of 3.55 and five grams of acidity, improving the parameters this year. This is one of their finest vineyards. 1,200 bottles produced. It was bottled in April 2025.
