The NV Colección Altanza - Roberto Amillo Palo Cortado is a younger wine than their La Saca bottling, with an average age estimated (not certified—at least, its not listed on the label) to be over 35 years of age. This is a bottling from July 2024, but like the rest of the range, there's no indication of the bottling date on the label. It has a pale mahogany color and an elegant and subtle nose, tender and nuanced, with hints of sweet spices, orange peel, nuts and varnish, concentrated and pungent with a long salty and bitter finish and a bone dry, chalky sensation. This comes in at 22% alcohol—the highest allowed—with a pH of 2.82 and 5.5 grams of residual sugar, a little high but still unnoticeable on the palate.
