Classificação manual e ótica das uvas. Elaboração em depósitos termorreguláveis de betão, madeira e aço inoxidável com remontagens que variam de acordo com os lotes. Durante a fermentação alcoólica, a temperatura é de 25 °C e o tempo de encubamento oscila entre 18 e 28 dias. Prensagem pneumática horizontal.
Envelhecimento
Estágio de 15 a 17 meses em barricas de carvalho francês de grão fino e tosta média (45% novas e 55% de um vinho), com trasiegos a cada 5 meses.

Fresh, poised but demure on the nose with upscale oak rendering a fine note of cigar box and tobacco to the cool cassis, tapenade and grilled red capsicums. Very well-balanced on the palate with a juicy medium body and a tight but layered finish. Refined and long. Well-done for the vintage. Already approachable, but better from 2025.

The Wine Advocate:

The 2021 du Tertre has turned out well in bottle, offering up aromas of dark, minty berries, pipe tobacco, orange zest and pencil shavings, followed by a medium-bodied, supple and suave palate built around velvety tannins and bright acids. This Cabernet-dominant blend represents a strong effort for this property, no doubt helped by the brave decision to sell off one-third of the production in bulk.

Ripe cherries, sappy green tobacco, cedar, and floral notes all emerge from the 2021 Château Du Tertre, a more complex, slightly herbal, yet textured, medium-bodied, balanced Margaux. It has solid mid-palate depth, a smoky, darker fruited, inward style, ripe tannins, and outstanding length.
