Nariz
Predomina a fruta preta madura e carnuda, como a cereja, com notas cítricas de laranja sanguínea, juntamente com toques de seiva e aromas complexos.
Boca
Tinto rico, poderoso, com taninos suaves, suficientemente unidos para revestir a fruta com elegância e preencher o paladar, culminando num final persistente. As notas minerais, quase calcárias, no final mantêm a energia do vinho.

Recomenda-se servir a 16 °C.

Descrição
Os vinhedos mais antigos, localizados perto do castelo e da vila de Margaux, na famosa Terrasse 4, são o berço do grand vin da casa. Desde 2017, toda a propriedade é cultivada seguindo uma abordagem orgânica.
Solo
Pobre, com drenagem natural que favorece o enraizamento profundo da videira e composto por uma ampla faixa de cascalho enterrado em uma fina densidade de argila.
Clima
Colheita marcada por um inverno seco com geadas noturnas no início de abril, seguido por uma primavera e um verão em que o calor e as altas temperaturas se instalaram com força, embora neste último tenham ocorrido algumas tempestades. O outono ensolarado e sereno garantiu uma colheita tranquila.
Rendimento
30 hectolitros por hectare.
Colheita
A vindima manual foi realizada entre 16 e 28 de setembro (Cabernet sauvignon), entre 2 e 15 do mesmo mês (Merlot) e no dia 16 para a Petit verdot.
Vinificação
Separadamente por parcela e até mesmo intraparcela em depósitos de inox a temperatura controlada e com encubamento por gravidade.
Envelhecimento
Estágio de 18 meses em barricas de carvalho francês, 50% novas.

This château has been firing on all cylinders of late, no doubt due to the talents of technical director Nicolas Audebert, and a wine that's going to flirt with perfection is their 2022 Château Rauzan-Ségla. Powerful notes of black cherries, currants, smoked tobacco, chocolate, and leafy herbs all define the aromatics, and it hits the palate with full-bodied richness, a deep, layered, concentrated texture, ripe yet building tannins, and a great finish. This is a legit great wine that's going to rival the 2010, 2015, 2016, 2018, and 2020.

Aromas of blueberries and blackberries with walnuts and hints of tar that follow through to a medium to full body with plush and velvety tannins and a lovely, caressing mouthfeel. It closes up at the end. Extremely long, pure and structured. Classic 72% cabernet sauvignon, 26% merlot and 2% petit verdot. From organically grown grapes. Give this at least until after 2030 to open and come around.

The 2022 Rauzan-Ségla is showing well in bottle, unfurling in the glass with aromas of dark berries and cherries mingled with licorice, burning embers and pencil shavings. Medium to full-bodied, ample and velvety, it's suave and seamless, with its dense core of fruit framed by powdery structuring tannins that lend a more evident backbone than it exhibited en primeur. As readers may remember, the 2022 is a blend of 72% Cabernet Sauvignon, 26% Merlot and 2% Petit Verdot; and in 2022, the east-facing sides of the vines, which see the afternoon sun, were picked separately, along with anything that showed signs of stress.
