Um dos vinhos espanhóis mais bem cotados em todo o mundo. L'Ermita é uma das grandes joias enológicas do panorama espanhol, com a qual Álvaro Palacios conseguiu alcançar o topo em termos de reconhecimento. Um Gran Viña Seleccionada que, obviamente, tem uma produção muito limitada. Exclusivo, íntimo e harmonioso. O seu criador define-o como «a emoção do classicismo». Como curiosidade, no seu coupage participam principalmente as variedades Garnacha e Samsó (Cariñena), embora haja também uma pequena percentagem de uvas brancas que nascem na mesma vinha.

Nariz
Destacam-se as notas florais com toques de groselha vermelha, morangos maduros, violetas, especiarias doces e casca de tangerina, além de ervas silvestres e flores brancas.
Boca
Em boca é muito elegante, fresco e crocante, com abundantes notas de cerejas vermelhas que se combinam com as notas minerais e saborosas características do terroir. Os seus taninos conferem-lhe uma textura fina e granulada e o final é muito longo.
Temperatura de servir
Recomenda-se servir a 16 ºC.
Consumo
Ótimo até aproximadamente 2040, se conservado em boas condições. Recomenda-se decantar.
Combinação
Guisados de carne, aves de caça e carnes vermelhas (costeleta de vaca).

Descrição
Vinha localizada em Gratallops, com encostas muito pronunciadas e orientação norte e leste. Situada entre 400 e 500 metros de altitude. Brotação a partir de 22 de março, floração a partir de 5 de junho e pintor a partir de 14 de julho.

4,7 hectares.
Idade
Entre 85 e 105 anos.
Solo
De ardósia (licorela) de estrutura laminar, situada de forma vertical e oblíqua. A parcela é caracterizada por uma veia diagonal de rocha arenisca.
Clima
Continental com influência mediterrânica. Nesta colheita, destaca-se a seca, com uma pluviometria de 250 litros entre novembro de 2022 e outubro de 2023. Durante os meses da primavera, apenas caíram 43 litros. Por este motivo, e pela primeira vez na história, foi necessário incluir técnicas precisas de irrigação em zonas com baixa absorção de água.
Colheita
A vindima manual foi realizada nos dias 5, 6, 9 e 11 de outubro.
Vinificação
100% desengaçado e esmagado suavemente. Fermentação alcoólica em pequenos tonéis de madeira com pisagem. Maceração durante aproximadamente 45 dias. Fermentação malolática espontânea em barricas.
Envelhecimento
Estágio em barris ovais de carvalho francês durante 13 meses e mais dois meses em betão.

Avaliação dos peritos

Decanter:

The aromas are delightfully floral, laden with redcurrants and tangerine peel, plus wild herbs and white flowers. Nothing is overdone here – it's so elegant. In the mouth it's fresh and crisp with abundant red cherries, run through with the savoury, mineral notes of the terroir. The tannins add fine texture and grain, and there is a superbly long finish. This really is a wine to meditate over. 84% Garnacha, 13% Cariñena with seasonings of Picapoll and white varieties. A joy from beginning to end, with a glorious future ahead. It's often difficult to approach the great wines with a fair mind, but L’Ermita charms from the first.

The Wine Advocate:

The "gran vinya classificada" single-vineyard 2023 L'Ermita was also bottled and singing. From the 4.7 hectares of the vineyard, they selected four for this vintage, with a blend of 84% Garnacha, 13% Cariñena, 2% Picapoll and 1% white grapes, Garnacha Blanca, Macabeo and PX. It fermented with part of full clusters and indigenous yeasts in oak vats with a longer maceration than in 2022, a total of 42 days, followed by an élevage in French oak oval foudres of 13 months and two more months in concrete. Last year, I found it darker, earthier and a little more rustic than the 2022 wine, but it has bloomed since then. It's much more ethereal and floral, with notes of fresh grape pulp, and it has contained energy, interwoven with spices. This is now somewhere in between the more perfumed and ethereal wines like Dofi and La Baixada and the earthier, darker and more powerful like La Baixada. 4,730 bottles were filled in February 2025. Tim Atkin:

Deep, soulful and really, quite a moving wine. Ripe, earthy strawberries, licorice, wild herbs, graphite and the slightest touch of toasted wood, perfectly integrated into the whole. This is a special wine in every vintage, but it feels like it has a touch more this year. Remarkable. 2024-2044

James Suckling:

Very good depth for a rather delicate, nuanced red from a blisteringly hot and dry year, showing violets, ripe strawberries, blueberries, sweet spices and minerals on the nose. A touch of white pepper as well. The extraction must have been kept low to keep the finesse and fine-grained tannins. Fine mineral tension in the middle. Drink from 2027.
