A Grande Dame presta homenagem a Madame Clicquot, que em 1818 elaborado o primeiro rosé d'assemblage conhecido, misturando alguns dos seus vinhos tintos de Bouzy com os seus brancos. Esta senhora costumava dizer: «as nossas uvas tintas dão os melhores vinhos brancos». A Pinot noir é a grande protagonista, com 90% da mistura. As uvas provêm de crus históricos da casa. Além disso, é adicionado vinho tinto de uma única
parcela, Clos Colin, localizada em Bouzy, um terroir Grand Cru. Esta é a 9.ª edição deste vinho.

Notas florais de violeta, lilás, rosa e flores branco, juntamente com notas de frutos vermelhos (groselha, cereja, mirtilo).

Ao prová-lo, notamos as sensações de pão, brioche, café e notas fumadas e especiadas (anis, pimenta branca).

Vinhas de Pinot Noir nas zonas de Ay, Verzenay, Verzy, Ambonnay e Bouzy, de Chardonnay em Avize e Le Mesnil-sur-Oger e o vinho tinto da mistura provém da Parcelle Clos Colin.
Clima
Continental. O ano de 2012 foi um ano com uma colheita ensolarada que produziu vinhos intensos, belos, com boa acidez e força.
Vinificação
Método tradicional com a segunda fermentação na mesma garrafa em que será comercializado.

The 2012 Brut Rosé La Grande Dame is the finest wine I've tasted from Veuve Clicquot in several decades. Offering up aromas of red berries, bee pollen, orange zest and freshly baked bread, it's medium to full-bodied, pillowy and precise, with a deep core of fruit and a vibrant, tightly coiled profile, concluding with a penetrating, sapid finish. This isn't the muscular, powerful Clicquot style of yesteryear, but it's a compelling effort in a fine-boned, more polished register. - William Kelley.
